OPEN ENROLLMENT APPLICATION DATES & DEADLINES
- Applications for the upcoming school year open November 1st each year
- K–8 applicants: Priority window closes at midnight on December 31st
- High school applicants: Priority window closes at midnight on January 31st
DO I NEED TO COMPLETE AN OPEN ENROLLMENT APPLICATION?
You do not need to complete an open enrollment application if your child is staying at the same school (for example, moving from kindergarten to first grade at Acacia).
You do need to complete an application if:
- Your child is moving to a new school (for example, from 5th grade to 6th grade).
- You’d like your child to attend a different school than your boundary school.
- Your child was not accepted in a previous year (applications do not roll over).
DO I NEED TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL CHILD?
- Yes, please submit a separate application for each child. We recommend using a computer or tablet to complete the form. Click HERE to access the application.
WHEN WILL I HEAR ABOUT MY CHILD’S PLACEMENT?
Our goal is to notify families by:
- End of January for K–8th grade applicants
- Beginning of June for high school applicants
- If your student is placed on a waitlist for their first-choice school, their application will automatically be considered for their second and third choices.
- You should receive an update on those schools within about a month after being notified of the waitlist status.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS ON THE WAITLIST WHEN THE NEXT APPLICATION OPENS?
- If your student has not been accepted by November 1st, we highly recommend submitting a new application for the next school year.
- Applying early gives you the best chance to secure a spot during the priority window.
- Good news — submitting a new application will not affect your current waitlist position.
WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD APPLYING TO THE SAME SCHOOL?
We always do our best to keep siblings together! However, if space isn’t available in every grade level, it’s possible that one child may receive an offer before another.
If that happens:
- You’ll have the option to accept or decline the available spot.
- The sibling on the waitlist will automatically move to a priority position.
- If you already have a child enrolled at that school, any applying siblings will receive priority consideration when space opens up.
