Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Vail Academy and High School!
We greatly appreciate the valuable gift of your time!
At VAHS we believe in the saying, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” With your help we hope to do just that. By demonstrating to students that adults care about them and their opportunities we are encouraging students to do well and stay focused on their education.
All persons wanting to volunteer within the Vail School District must complete the following:
Online Volunteer Application
Click here to access the Online Volunteer ApplicationOnline Affidavit
Once the Online Volunteer Application has been submitted, you will receive an Affidavit via email from the District Office which you will need to sign electronically.
Once you have submitted your Online Volunteer Application and Affidavit, you will receive an email from the school’s Volunteer Coordinator stating that you are cleared to volunteer.
FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENTS
Parents or Legal Guardians:
Fingerprints are not required for parents or legal guardians of a child if they are volunteering at the school that the child goes to.Community Members or Family Members (including grandparents, siblings, etc.):
You must submit fingerprints for approval prior to volunteering at a school. You will receive information on the fingerprint process from the District Office once you have completed the Online Volunteer Application and Affidavit.
In order to maintain your volunteer eligibility, volunteers will need to resubmit their Online Volunteer Application and Affidavit each school year after 7/1.
When volunteering, please be sure to check IN and OUT of the office using the computer and wear a visitor badge. For security and emergency situations, it is important for administrators to know who is on campus and where. It is equally important to know who is on field trips for these same reasons.
In addition, the district must have records showing days and hours volunteers worked for the purpose of liability.
Lastly, a record of each volunteer’s hours will enable the school to evaluate its volunteer program and recognize volunteers for their contribution at the Vail Pride Day Volunteer Luncheon!

If you can’t volunteer your time, we are always looking for donations of gift cards to use for various events throughout the school year. Gift cards can be dropped off to the Volunteer Coordinator in the front office.
Also, the school library is looking to expand their book selection and has created an Amazon Wish List so please consider adding a book or two to your next Amazon purchase to donate to our library! You can view the library Wish List here.
